Dear Friend and Fellow Voyager, Thank you for your interest in Discovering Your Soul’s Work, a unique holistic approach to career transition. By discovering, uncovering, who you truly are- your core values, passions, talents and drives - you will be able to identify and create the career and life direction that is right for you! Many people like yourself, come to a halt- a stop in their career. They wonder “Is this all there is?” They begin to question what they’re doing and ask “Am I on the right track?” They have met the challenges earlier in their career but now they’re marking time in place. Nothing seems to excite them. Perhaps they’re blocked in their careers by a manager who won’t promote them, or by a system that doesn’t reward individual creativity or nonconformity to a rigid mold. Some come to this place after years of therapy or personal growth workshops. As they get in touch with their authentic selves, they yearn for more meaning, self expression and “connectedness” in their work and their lives. Some begin to question early in their work lives. They leave college with idealism and a desire to achieve- to do something in the real world. After a series of false starts or dead-end jobs, they seek help. For others, a change in life circumstances- becoming a parent, leaving a corporate job, a midlife crisis, the death of a parent , a health crisis, divorce, or retirement- catapults them into a time of deep questioning about what is important to them at this point in their lives. The Discovering Your Soul’s Work career transition program is based on Carl Jung’s theory of individuation. Jung believed that we have within us at birth the kernel of the unique individual we are to become. If properly nurtured and supported, this seed, or potential, organically unfolds and manifests. Life, then, becomes a coming into selfhood.Integrating with Jung, the work of Ken Wilber, Maslowe and Csikszentmihalyi as well as recent writings and studies on psychology, management and spirituality, our program addresses the universal cry for creativity, relatedness, community and sense of higher purpose. We believe that when work ceases to satisfy the inner drive for these things, it can lead to apathy, boredom, frustration, addictions, depression and illness. Our 10-session program uses both left- and right-brain exercises. It uses writing, drawing, meditation, guided visualizations, checklists, evaluative, analytic and somatic exercises as well as traditional career assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Campbell Skill and Interest Inventory.I welcome your further questions and offer a complimentary 30-minute phone consultation.
